Value Champions League
This Year St.Stephen’s has teamed up with Shaftesbury Primary and William Davies Primary schools to run a ‘Value Champions’ sports league. Inspired by the 7 Olympic values: courage, friendship, equality, determination, excellence, inspiration and respect, the schools have run 3 sports competitions for different age groups where they competed against each other and were encouraged to make new friendships.. Year 2 took part in a multi-skills athletic event while Year 3/4 and 5/6 competed in football leagues. Shaftesbury school were overall winners in all 3 events but a member of each school also won an award for displaying one of the values.
A special assembly was held at St. Stephens where all the children from all schools who took part attended. We were honoured to have Olympic Gold medal winner Tessa Sanderson come to our school to present the winners with their trophies. The Values Champions Leagues will continue next year and we hope to encourage other local school to join.
