Class 1K
Hello and welcome to 1K! Our teacher is Karen, and our Educational Assistant is Angela. We also have Mark to help us learn about music.
Our topic this term is 'Living Art.' We are looking at well known painting such as Van Gogh's 'Sunflowers' and Stubb's 'Whistle Jacket.' We are not only recreating them, but also learning about the history and geography surrounding each painting. Please come and ask us to show you the country the artist lived on a world map! We are looking forward to travelling to the National Gallery to learn more about some of these paintings.
This half term we are also visiting our local library each week to learn about the services they provide, to take out and return books, and discover how the books are displayed by their category and in alphabetical order.
During P.E. we are very busy creating shapes, rolls and balances. We know how to make a pike, straddle and extension, and we can all do a forward roll independently. We are working together to put these into a routine and we are looking forward to performing them to the rest of our key stage during our performance assembly.
