Home-School Agreement

It is very important that this agreement is well understood and is kept by all partners

     
 

Work Ethos

 
The Parent or Carer will support this by:
  • Making sure my child completes homework tasks on time and of a good standard.
  • Attending parent's meetings a discussions about my child's progress.
  • Encouraging my child to do his/her best at all times.
  • Ensuring that my child is properly equipped for school (P.E. kit, reading book bag).
  • Having high but realistic expectations of my child's attainments.
  • Liaising closely with teachers on the continuing progress of my child.
  • Taking an active interest in the life and workings of the school.
 
     
The school will support this by:
  • Maintaining high expectations for all pupils.
  • Providing a challenging and stimulating programme of study designed to enable all children to reach the highest standards of personal achievement.
  • Ensuring that learning is progressive and continuous.
  • Being good role models for pupils.
  • Working collaboratively with parents and pupils.
  • Setting, marking and monitoring pupil's progress.
  • Arranging meeting during which pupil progress will be discussed.
  • Keeping parents fully informed on school activities.
 
     
Pupils will support this by:
  • Doing my best at all times.
  • Completing my homework to the best of my ability, independently.
  • Bringing all the equipment I need each day.
  • Taking responsibility for my own learning.
  • Listening carefully and respectfully to my teacher every day.

  • Notifying the school of any absence my child has.
  • Apart from exceptional circumstances my child will not be absent from school for any length of time.
  • Supporting the school's attendance policy.
 
     
The school will support this by:
  • Monitoring pupil attendance, absence and punctuality.
  • Informing parents of their child's record of school attendance.
  • Informing pupils of the importance of daily attendance.
  • Setting annual targets to raise the level of school attendance.
  • Recognising excellent pupil attendance.
 
     
Pupils will support this by:
  • Attending school each day.
  • Being punctual and on time for each school session.

Behaviour

  • Making my child aware of appropriate behaviour in all situations.
  • Encouraging independence and self discipline.
  • Fostering good relationships with the school.
  • Making sure my child keeps the rules of the school.
  • Co-operating fully and working within a supportive partnership with staff members and all members of the school community.
  • Attending meetings requesting discussion regarding my child's attainment in school.

  • Raising pupil's self esteem.
  • Recognising each pupil as an individual and being aware of their learning needs.
  • Providing learning opportunities that develop an understanding and acceptance of positive behaviour.

  • Being good role models and uphold high expectations of behaviour from both pupils and adults.
  • Using agreed school strategies consistently.
  • Providing an environment for pupils that is stimulating, safe and respectful.
