Homework Guidelines for Parents and Carers
Children at St. Stephen’s have daily homework tasks. On Fridays they will bring home a list of the week’s daily homework.
On Monday to Thursday there is a short Literacy and Maths task. On Friday the children have a topic based task.
Children should complete the Literacy and Numeracy tasks independently but may need your help at times (Please indicate where you have helped your child).
Please check that your child completes their homework task and that the presentation is of a very high standard.
Weekend topic homework may involve a task that your child could do with you. It may be a creative task that you could work on together.
In Reception, Years 1 and 2, all literacy and maths work should be in pencil. Illustrations should be in pencil and colouring pencil.
In Years 3 to 6 literacy work must be completed in pen and numeracy work in pencil. Illustrations should be in pencil and colouring pencil.
Please make sure that your child writes the date and title and underlines them neatly using a ruler (Years 2 to 6).
The work should be of the standard, quantity and quality of the year group your child is in.
Please ensure your child keeps their homework book in good condition and that they bring it to school every day in their plastic wallets.
