School Information

Group around computerSt. Stephen's Primary school is situated in the E6 district and lies between the Upton Park and East Ham area.

The school was built in 1951 and is a single storey building with 14 classrooms. In addition there is a large spacious PE/Assembly hall, entrance foyer, ICT suite, resource rooms, dining room and kitchen, in which all meals are cooked on site.

The school serves a community that is both rich and varied in culture and religious backgrounds. The multicultural nature of the school provides a greatly enriched environment and the school places value on the extensive language experiences our children bring to school with them.

At St. Stephen’s Primary School we believe it is essential to provide a well balanced, challenging curriculum where all children are encouraged to meet high teacher expectations and be enabled to learn effectively.

We believe it important that children acquire skills, knowledge and confidence that can be applied to all future learning experiences, including social, physical and spiritual development. We believe this to be important to allow each individual child to develop into a responsible member of the community.

To achieve this we will strive to provide a school environment that will be secure, stimulating, supportive and memorable, whereby each child feels valued as part of our community and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
