St.Stephen's School

Class 1HA

Our time in Reception has prepared us well for Key Stage One.

This year, my teachers are Halama Ali and Eluned Williams. We will continue to read challenging and exciting books to help us with our learning. We will practise and build on our phonics so that we can read and write more independently. This is an important year for us because we will take part in the phonics screening in the summer term.

Maths in year 1 will continue to be stimulating. We will continue to work on our number formation, number bonds to 20, addition and subtraction. By the end of year 1 we aim to be able to write numbers in order to 100 and be able to count in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.

We have some really exciting visits this year which link directly to the work covered in various areas of the curriculum. Year 1 will visit the London Transport museum and a pantomime in the Autumn term.

Please feel free to come and talk if you ever have any questions.

1HA Class Charter

Each class at St. Stephen’s Primary School will complete a class charter, outlining agreements for members of the class and duty bearers (adults). All pupils are entitled to receive their rights. This class charter will form the basis of a display in class, be displayed on the class website page and also be used for class disciplinary matters.
